circle-layouts

Wanted to share another layout from the custom album that I recently finished.  There were so many pictures to showcase, so I needed some help with layout ideas.  Where do I go for ideas?  Pinterest!! I really enjoy Pinterest.  I have so many layout ideas pinned there, that I can open it up and quickly scan for ideas.  It has become my go to source for inspiration!  If you have not delved … [Read more...]

A Start to an Amazing Story!

title-page-PT

When creating an album, especially one about a specific person, I typically start them with a cover page showcasing them. For this album (I have pixelated his last name for privacy) I loved this black and white photo that the client provided of her dad.  As I stated in an earlier posts, black and white are one of my favourite photos to work with.  I love the background paper that I found at … [Read more...]

Wedding Splendor

Old black and white vintage photos are one of my favourite types of photos to work with when scrapbooking.  You can add colour to your page that will enhance your black and white photos.  The challenge for me in this scrapbook, was to stick to the colour tone that the client chose.  We carried similar tones through the whole album, but I love the colours that she chose.  The work so well with … [Read more...]

90 Years Young

90-year-layout

When I decided to start making albums for other people, one of the questions I was asked a lot, was how can you document someone else's story.  Isn't it hard?  At first, I had a hard time answering the question.  As I completed more albums, it got easier and easier.  The reason it became easier, was due to the fact that I became so involved in these peoples lives.  I lose myself in their … [Read more...]

Mini Albums

IMG_4361

Mini albums are a wonderful gift idea and I love how quickly they come together.  They are great little brag books for Grandma, a favourite aunt and uncle or even for you to have in your house for guests to look at.  They provide a quick synopsis of an event or story complete with some great pictures. Here is one that I did using some retired Close to My Heart paper and it was actually one of … [Read more...]

Happy New Year!

2013!  Wow, how the time has flown by.  The Christmas decorations are down and packed away.  I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and that you were able to spend time with your family and friends.  We had a white Christmas here and it really was a lovely time! I was able to do some creating over the holidays and these fun birthday invitations were one of the results.  They were … [Read more...]

The End!

Masters end page

Still have some layouts to post from the golf album that I did for my client and I wanted to share the last page of the album with you. For this particular Masters at Augusta, the clients were there to watch Tiger Woods win the green jacket!  For all you golfers out there, I am sure this was an amazing experience for them. Here is the last page of their album, highlighting the … [Read more...]

Long Overdue!

overdue

Well, it has been a while since I have posted, or even stepped foot into my craft room.  I have been helping a friend in my spare time with his business and tomorrow will be the last day.  So, that means it's back to the craft room for me.  How I have missed you. I have so many great items waiting for me to get my fingers on and start creating - namely the new Close to My Heart Cricut … [Read more...]

What’s In An Envelope?

One of the things I have struggled with in making wedding invitations, save the dates, or any cards for that matter, is making my card/invitation a standard size, so that I can find a standard sized envelope.  The last thing you want to do is to make a card and then try and find an envelope and it turns out that it doesn’t fit. So, I thought I would put together a little guide for you, to … [Read more...]

Amen!

Amen Corner, Augusta

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada.  We have had some amazing weather here and it was great to take advantage of it on this long weekend. But, the fun has to end and it's back to work!  Here is another layout from the golf album I did recently.  This is from Amen Corner at Augusta, a famous section of the course.  The client had taken a picture of a famous … [Read more...]
